Comprehensive logistics and local know-how – a competitive edge in exporting windows to the USA
2026-05-11

An efficient supply chain is key to successfully selling window joinery in the United States. A crucial role is played by cooperation with a logistics partner that provides end-to-end service—ranging from collecting goods from the factory in Poland, through selecting the appropriate shipping line service and handling customs clearance, to delivering to diverse destinations such as warehouses, construction sites, or private addresses. Strong understanding of local business realities is also critical, enabling smooth execution of operations. This is how Rohlig SUUS Logistics works with the Polish window manufacturer Eko-Okna.
Within this project, we are responsible for the comprehensive logistics of exporting aluminum and wooden windows from Poland to the USA, as well as—on a smaller scale-profiles and structural components. Cooperation with our local partner in the United States is essential; they support process management in the target market and provide know-how in regulations, operational realities, and business culture. This approach increases the efficiency of the entire supply chain and supports building the client’s competitive advantage.
Comprehensive and tailored export services to the USA
- We handle both full container load (FCL) and less-than-container load (LCL) ocean freight, including our own consolidations.
- We also manage consolidations prepared by the client—containers with windows destined for various recipients across different parts of the USA, which we deconsolidate on arrival and prepare for further distribution. This solution allows logistics to be aligned with the order structure and improves operational efficiency.
- We organize road transport of containers from the client’s factory in Silesia to ports in Poland and Germany.
- We optimize transit time and costs by selecting appropriate shipping line services—both on the European port side and at terminals in the USA.
- For urgent shipments, we use air freight as a complement to ocean services.
Final deliveries in the USA – from recipient warehouses to construction sites in city centers
Deliveries to the U.S. market are mainly carried out under Incoterms DAP, as well as DDP and CFR, offering clients flexible logistics models. The scope includes both organizing ocean freight to U.S. ports and full door-to-door delivery, including import processes, depending on the supply chain structure and customer expectations.
In many cases, the delivery process requires highly precise planning—for example, transport scheduled within a specific time slot to a construction site in a major city center. Knowledge of local conditions and strong business relationships enable efficient coordination of the entire process, which is crucial for maintaining project continuity on the client side.
Customs handling and operational support
- As part of the cooperation, we also handle export customs clearance, ensuring compliance with regulations and smooth processing of all formalities.
- Additional routes and services
- Beyond exports to the USA, we also execute other transport projects, including air freight of selected goods on non-European routes (e.g., Dubai).
Client feedback on the cooperation
“Partnering with a logistics company allows us to unlock our potential and highlight strengths that were previously limited by distance, procedures, and issues not directly related to our core business. Although we have know-how regarding product specifications, local logistics, and required certifications, we are still physically far away. SUUS’s out-of-the-box solutions eliminate that distance, enabling our current growth dynamics. A win-win-win supply chain is developing, where our production grows, the number of deliveries increases, and customers worldwide can benefit from attractively priced and reliable window joinery fully tailored to their tastes, needs, and preferences,” emphasizes Maciej Urbaniak, Container Shipping Manager at Eko-Okna.
