Rohlig SUUS Logistics, largest Polish logistics operator, has opened a new cross-dock terminal in Kielce, doubling its operational space in the region. The investment strengthens SUUS’s road transport capabilities, both in deliveries to the local market and in domestic and international transport. The  company also plans to develop customs services at the branch in the near future.

SUUS’s modern cross-dock terminal, with an area of 4,400 sqm, is located at 147a Malików Street, close to the S7 expressway. The facility is equipped with 25 loading docks and an almost 40-metre-long transshipment ramp, enabling the daily handling of around 50 distribution vehicles and 40 inter-branch lines. The operator provides regional cargo deliveries as well as last-mile value-added services, including, among others, carrying in and assembling furniture, as well as consumer electronics and household appliances. It also offers full truckload, less-than-truckload and part truckload transport, FTL, LTL and PTL, on domestic
and international routes.

“We have been present in Kielce for seven years and have observed steadily growing demand for logistics services in the region. This includes, among other areas, handling deliveries of goods from many different industries to points of sale, such as retail chains and smaller stores. At the same time, local businesses are developing, including companies in the construction materials sector and the metal industry, which translates into greater demand for efficient transport of raw materials and production components, as well as the shipment of finished products to recipients in other parts of Poland and Europe. This is why the new cross
dock terminal strengthens our efficiency in serving the local market and is an important element of the entire national distribution network” – says Piotr Zborowski, Member of the Management Board at Rohlig SUUS Logistics

“The new branch strengthens our market position in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship. The terminal’s twice as-large area compared with the previous facility translates into more efficient transshipment, while its location close to the S7 expressway enables more effective distribution across the region, as well as domestic and international transport. We are also focusing on developing customs services, which will allow for faster handling of global shipments. In the near future, we plan to launch an approved customs clearance location, a bonded warehouse and a temporary storage facility. We also see the potential to expand our operations to include warehousing and value-added services, such as co-packing. In Kielce, we are focusing on comprehensive logistics” – emphasises Mariusz Lasek, Branch Manager of Rohlig SUUS Logistics in Kielce. As the branch develops, the company also plans to increase employment.

The new branch includes a modern office space of 600 sqm, five times larger than in the previous location. It was designed in line with the Office of the Future concept, providing comfortable working conditions. A rest area for drivers is also available on the premises. The building was developed with solutions supporting energy efficiency and sustainable development. The facility is currently undergoing BREEAM certification at the Very Good level and is equipped with, among other features, a photovoltaic installation, energy efficient heating systems, skylights providing access to natural light and destratification fans that optimise
thermal energy consumption. The site also includes charging stations for passenger electric vehicles and flower meadows.
