SUUS strengthens its presence in Olsztyn: larger warehouse and expanded customs services

Rohlig SUUS Logistics is strengthening its position in the Warmian-Masurian region. Poland’s largest logistics operator has increased its warehouse space in Olsztyn by more than 30%. The company has also launched an approved place for customs clearance and plans to open a customs warehouse. The expansion of the branch will improve the efficiency of handling and distribution operations in the region while further strengthening support for international supply chains.

SUUS’s Olsztyn branch, located at 17M Towarowa Street, is a logistics hub combining cross-dock terminal and warehousing functions. The operator provides comprehensive logistics services, including cargo handling, local distribution and value-added last-mile services such as in-home delivery and installation. It handles full-truckload, partial-load and less-than-truckload shipments (FTL, PTL and LTL) both domestically and internationally. The branch also offers warehousing and additional services, including co-packing. Following the acquisition of additional space in an adjacent section of the building, the branch’s total area has increased to approximately 2,300 sqm.

More opportunities for companies operating internationally

SUUS is also expanding its customs services in Olsztyn. An approved place for customs clearance has been established within the warehouse, and the branch also operates its own customs agency.

We have launched an approved place for customs clearance, allowing customs procedures to be carried out directly at the warehouse, without the need to transport goods to a customs office. The next step will be to open a customs warehouse, which will allow customs duties and taxes to be deferred until the goods are released from the warehouse. Working with a single partner that manages the entire supply chain – from transportation and warehousing to customs clearance – means more efficient operations and lower costs,” explains Mirosław Kłósek, Customs Product Director at Rohlig SUUS Logistics.

The approved place for customs clearance is an important step towards more efficient handling of international supply chains. At the same time, the increased warehouse space and larger number of loading docks allow us to handle warehousing, cross-docking and distribution operations more efficiently. This is particularly important as we are seeing strong demand for last-mile delivery of furniture and home appliances, including in-home delivery and installation, to holiday homes, which are numerous in our region,” says Adrian Wieliczko, Branch Manager at Rohlig SUUS Logistics in Olsztyn. “Another important advantage of the region is its proximity to the rapidly developing ports in Pomerania. This means that it can serve as a logistics hinterland for handling sea containers and storing goods prior to their further distribution,” he adds.

The branch’s development has also resulted in a 50% increase in office space. The modern offices have been designed in line with the Office of the Future standard, providing employees with a comfortable working environment. As the business continues to grow, the company plans to further expand its workforce. The facility also features a dedicated rest area for drivers waiting for loading or unloading.
