Rohlig SUUS Logistics has expanded its operational space in Poznań by 14,000 sqm. As a result, the company now manages nearly 55,000 sqm of modern warehouse infrastructure at the site. In the region, SUUS provides comprehensive logistics support, including warehousing, value-added services, customs clearance, as well as domestic and international road transport.
The additional operational space launched by SUUS in Poznań comprises a modern facility serving as both a warehouse and a transhipment terminal. It is located adjacent to the existing branch, which covers an area of over 40,000 m², within the logistics park in Tarnowo Podgórne.
Comprehensive supply chain services
At its Poznań branch, SUUS provides comprehensive logistics support, including racking and block storage, as well as value-added services such as co-packing, order fulfilment and labelling. The facility also has infrastructure for ADR goods and is currently undergoing IFS certification, which enables the handling of food products. The logistics centre also houses a customs warehouse, a temporary storage facility and an area authorised for customs clearance, which supports the efficient handling of global supply chains. In addition, there is a tax warehouse on site enabling the handling of excise goods, including alcohol, oils and lubricants.
SUUS also provides a full range of road transport services – including less-than-truckload (LTL), part-load (PTL) and full-truckload (FTL) shipments. The operator handles domestic transport and local last-mile distribution, along with additional services such as the delivery and assembly of household appliances or furniture. The company also offers international transport, including regular groupage services to destinations such as Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. The efficiency of transport operations is enhanced by the branch’s location near the A2 motorway and the S11 expressway.
Greater Poland as a key logistics market
Justyna Stróżyk, Branch Director Poznań at Rohlig SUUS Logistics, says: "Greater Poland is one of the most important and fastest-growing logistics markets in Poland. Its location at the crossroads of European trade routes, combined with well-developed transport infrastructure, including road networks, intermodal terminals, and rail connections, makes the region a natural hub between Poland and Western Europe" She adds: "Growing demand for logistics services is being driven by both local manufacturers and distributors as well as foreign investors establishing operations in Greater Poland. That is why we continue to develop our capabilities and infrastructure in the region, currently expanding our warehouse space in Poznań by 35 percent".
Rohlig SUUS Logistics has been operating in Poznań for over 25 years. The branch currently employs over 160 people, and as its projects expand, the company plans to increase its workforce further. In addition to the warehouse area, the facility also features modern office space designed according to the ‘Office of the Future’ concept, ensuring comfort whilst carrying out daily duties, as well as a special rest area for drivers.
The logistics centre is also equipped with a range of environmentally friendly solutions. The facility holds a BREEAM Excellent certificate and is fitted with, amongst other things, a photovoltaic system, a smart media management system and energy-efficient LED lighting. Electric vehicle charging stations are also available on the premises.
