Rohlig SUUS Logistics continues to expand its operations across Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia. The largest Polish logistics operator has entered into a partnership with PFR Group, which will co-finance the further development of the company’s international operations. The project also involves KUKE, which provides insurance coverage for business risks. It is another international expansion project of a Polish company delivered under the Team Poland framework.

The cooperation with PFR is part of Rohlig SUUS Logistics’ long-term strategy to build a leading position across the CEECA region, encompassing Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia. The financing provided by Foreign Expansion Fund 2 (Fundusz Ekspansji Zagranicznej 2 FIZ AN), managed by PFR TFI, a member of PFR Group, will support the further strengthening of the company’s presence in these markets and the implementation of new growth initiatives. In total, the project will cost around €30 million, of which €10 million will come from the Foreign Expansion Fund. Rohlig SUUS Logistics currently operates in nine countries: Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Slovenia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The company has more than 40 branches and employs over 2,600 people. The investment agreement between Rohlig SUUS Logistics and the Foreign Expansion Fund was announced on 26 June this year, during the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdańsk.

Piotr Iwo Chmielewski, Chairman of the Management Board of Rohlig SUUS Logistics, emphasized: "Strengthening our position in international markets is one of the key pillars of SUUS’ strategy. We are focused on the CEECA region and are building an economic and logistics bridge across the region because we see significant business potential there. CEE has been one of the world’s most stable and fastest-growing regions over the past decades, driven by both local champions and international investment. Interest in Ukraine is also growing in the context of the country’s reconstruction and long-term economic development. At the same time, Central Asia is becoming an increasingly important and promising market for global trade. We want to be a strategic partner for companies operating across the region and enable their growth across the CEECA markets. Our cooperation with PFR is an important step in achieving this goal."

Piotr Matczuk, President of the Management Board of PFR SA, said: "The PFR's strategy is based on the conviction that the strength of the Polish economy is built not only at home but also in international markets. Our role as a strategic partner is to create conditions in which Polish companies can thrive and Polish capital can strengthen its position in global supply chains. By co-financing foreign investments through the Foreign Expansion Fund, we share the risk with our partners, but above all, we jointly build lasting value and a long-term competitive advantage. We also support the development of Rohlig SUUS as Team Poland, a one-stop-shop for entrepreneurs wishing to build a strong presence abroad.”

CEECA – a region of growing importance for business

The potential of the CEECA region is reflected in the growing number of companies expanding their international operations across the area. Central and Eastern Europe is one of the most attractive investment destinations for global businesses, supported by trends such as nearshoring.
An increasing number of companies are building multi-country structures across the CEE region, treating it as a single economic and logistics ecosystem. At the same time, businesses from the region are pursuing international expansion more confidently, leveraging geographical proximity and market similarities as a natural path for growth. Ukraine is also attracting growing attention from the business community, as its reconstruction is expected to become one of the most significant economic and logistics projects in Europe in the years ahead.

Meanwhile, Central Asia, particularly Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, is gaining importance as a promising market amid geopolitical shifts and the growing need for diversification. Strong economic growth, young populations and rising consumer demand are attracting increasing interest from investors worldwide, while Polish companies are also steadily strengthening their presence across the region.

Rohlig SUUS Logistics combines international expertise with local market know-how, enabling the company to effectively support customers expanding across the CEECA region.

The operator specializes in comprehensive logistics and global supply chain management, providing road, sea, air, rail, and intermodal transport. It also offers contract logistics, customs services, project cargo, as well as Supply Chain Solutions, including process design and optimization tailored to individual customer needs.

Team Poland supports the international growth of Polish companies

The partnership between Rohlig SUUS Logistics and the PFR confirms the conviction of Polish development institutions that the expansion of family businesses can be one of the new engines of growth for the entire economy. Furthermore, foreign expansion can be more effective when private enterprise is combined with long-term financing and institutional support. This cooperation is part of the Team Poland idea, which represents a new paradigm for state action in supporting foreign expansion. This is a systemic approach where development institutions work together in a coordinated and business-oriented manner. Team Poland combines the potential and competencies of entities from the Polish Development Fund Group with the experience of Polish firms developing their operations in international markets.

Janusz Władyczak, President of the Management Board of KUKE, said: "Transport and logistics are one of the most important parts of our economy in terms of their share in GDP. At the same time, they are of strategic importance when it comes to ensuring Poland's competitiveness and access to international markets and resources. As Team Poland, we want to particularly support those entities from the TSL sector that are looking for opportunities to operate in foreign markets, thereby facilitating the global expansion of Polish business. We offer a variety of financial instruments for development, which Rohlig SUUS Logistics has taken advantage of, as well as security instruments, such as the reinsurance of transport insurance, which is reopening the Ukrainian market for Polish carriers."

The partnership with Rohlig SUUS Logistics is a model example of this approach, bringing together long-term financing, institutional support and private entrepreneurship to create shared value and strengthen the position of the Polish economy on the international stage.

This type of synergy enables Polish companies to compete more effectively in demanding international markets while building a solid foundation for the continued expansion of Polish capital across the CEECA region and globally.
