The largest Polish logistics operator in Central Europe, ROHLIG SUUS Logistics, expanded its operations in August 2022 with the launch of a new warehouse in Bydgoszcz, doubling its existing capacity in the region. The new facility offers over 12,000 square meters of space, designed in line with sustainable development principles and a strong commitment to environmental responsibility.

The new ROHLIG SUUS Logistics warehouse, covering 12,600 square meters, commenced full operations on August 1, 2022. The branch comprises three key modules: a logistics section, a transshipment terminal, and an expanded administrative area of nearly 1,000 square meters. The Polish logistics operator is currently pursuing BREEAM certification, demonstrating that the facility was developed according to sustainable development principles and designed to be both employee- and environmentally friendly.

The warehouse is equipped with several modern, eco-friendly features, including a photovoltaic system, charging stations for electric vehicles, LED lighting with an intelligent control system (DALI), and a network of roof skylights. Additional innovations include a roof deflection monitoring system and a façade designed to reflect sunlight.

– For several years, we have observed a rapid rise in the region’s importance, driving growing demand for professional logistics services. Over the last three years, we have achieved a 20% increase in logistics product sales. Although the pandemic slowed the dynamic growth of this sector, we are now seeing significant gains in contract logistics and domestic transport, – says Adam Galek, Member of the Management Board at ROHLIG SUUS Logistics. – The new warehouse at Wojska Polskiego 66 will not only double our operational capacity in this location but also support the growth of our existing clients, – he adds.

Bydgoszcz - a city of investments

For several years, Bydgoszcz has gained international recognition as an investment-friendly city. Once again, the capital of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship has been shortlisted in the category of the most dynamically developing cities in Poland at the CEE Business Services Awards 2022. ROHLIG SUUS Logistics, which has been operating in the region for 15 years, also recognizes the city’s potential.

Bydgoszcz enjoys a strategic location with excellent transport links, connecting it to the ports of Gdańsk and Gdynia, as well as major business hubs like Warsaw and Berlin. This advantageous position makes it a key point on the intermodal transport map.

– In Bydgoszcz, we focus on contract logistics, groupage and full truckload transport (both domestic and international), and handling non-standard shipments for e-commerce. The new warehouse will serve clients in sectors such as electronics and plastics. We also look forward to partnering with growing businesses in the agro, construction, and furniture industries, – says Jarosław Sala, Director of the ROHLIG SUUS Logistics branch in Bydgoszcz. – Importantly, we are addressing the needs of drivers by focusing on corridoring, or optimizing route planning. This allows drivers on domestic and international routes to select preferred corridors and return home as often as every two days, – he adds.

Office of The Future

The new facility in Bydgoszcz also features administrative space designed according to the latest standards of the logistics operator. – In our new branches, we place significant emphasis on work ergonomics and tailoring the space to the actual needs of employees. This approach not only provides our staff with more comfortable working conditions but also enhances the overall efficiency of the entire branch, – says Jarosław Sala, Director of the ROHLIG SUUS Logistics branch in Bydgoszcz.
