Rohlig SUUS Logistics Launches Two Regular Road Cargo Lines Connecting the Czech Republic to Southeastern Europe
Rohlig SUUS Logistics opens two direct groupage lines from Brno to Sofia and to Bucharest. Thanks to the operator's well-developed network of connections across Europe and logistics centers in the CEE region, these routes can also serve as important elements of the supply chains for entities from Northern and Western Europe. The new connections significantly increase its operational capabilities in the southeastern part of the continent. To date, it has provided direct general cargo lines to Turkey and Greece.
The two new services in Rohlig SUUS Logistics' regular route network operate once a week, with a transit time of 48 to 72 hours. The first route connects Brno with Sofia. In this case, the logistics operator also offers the possibility to deliver goods to Georgia. The second route provides from the aforementioned Czech city to Bucharest via Cluj. This service is being developed through cooperation between Rohlig SUUS Logistics branches in the Czech Republic and Romania.
Piotr Szałkiewicz, European Road Network Director at Rohlig SUUS Logistics, says: "We are seeing growing customer interest in the Balkan and Southeast European destinations. Therefore, we decided to open two new general cargo lines in this direction from the Czech Republic, which is an excellent logistics hub for northern and western Europe as well. Thanks to this, the route can be an attractive connection for companies from those parts of the continent." He underlines: "At Rohlig SUUS Logistics, we consistently strengthen our position in groupage road transport. We are continuously expanding our connections throughout Europe. In the past two years, we have introduced regular connections to Spain, Scandinavia, Ukraine, and the Baltic countries, among others. A crucial factor in the efficiency of our transportation is the network of warehouses in the CEE region, which we are also continually expanding."
The operator has logistics centers in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, and recently in Hungary. In Brno, from where the service is operated, Rohlig SUUS Logistics manages facilities with a total area of 12,500 square meters. In addition to road freight, it also provides a range of contract logistics services there, such as warehousing, value-added services (e.g. co-packing and labeling), or temporary storage warehousing, among others.
Pavel Vrajík, International Road Freight Director at Rohlig SUUS Logistics, says: "Until now, we have provided general cargo services to Southern and Eastern Europe, including Turkey, Greece, and Italy, among others. In the past, shipments to Bulgaria and Romania were consolidated via our terminal in Cracow. Therefore, the routes from Brno to Sofia and Bucharest significantly increase our operational capabilities in this region and speed up transit times for our customers. An important element in the efficiency of our services is the properly developed transportation infrastructure in Europe, including key arteries such as the E60, E65, E68, and E75, connecting the Czech Republic with the area of our new lines."
Rohlig SUUS Logistics’ newly opened groupage connections can also be an important part of companies' global supply chains. Thanks to comprehensive logistics services the operator can support customers operating in the Southeast European region in importing or exporting goods from Asia, LATAM, or the USA.
