Fast, International Transportation of Customized Shipments

For 140 years, German manufacturer Schoenberger has been supplying high-quality blinds, awnings, and garden umbrellas, improving the living comfort of its customers in Poland, Germany, and Austria. A major challenge facing the company was the efficient transportation of products of various sizes (ranging from 30 to 720 cm) and weights (ranging from 2 to 100kg) from the factory in Torun to customers across Europe. We found a solution that allowed Schoenberger to speed up deliveries to both business and individual customers, thereby gaining a significant competitive advantage.

The biggest challenge? Transporting and storing shipments of non-standard dimensions.
At Rohlig Suus Logistics, we are not afraid of challenges and we picked up the gauntlet! We used groupage, full truckload transport, and a special milk-run service to increase the fluidity of deliveries. Milk-run logistics is a delivery method in which one vehicle collects cargo from multiple suppliers and transports it to its destinations. We have also adapted our handling and storage infrastructure to accommodate shipments of unconventional dimensions.

Recipient Convenience and Efficient Communication
By analyzing market needs, we created a solution that would not only ensure the safe and fast transportation of shipments from point A to B, but also provide the highest quality end-customer experience and driver comfort. Efficient service is ensured by German-speaking freight forwarders who are in contact with carriers and consignees and continuously monitor routes. For the convenience of customers, we also provide a lifting service.

A Range of System Solutions
Thanks to the full integration of IT systems, we have ensured the rapid flow of data and efficient execution of process tasks. We have also introduced a German-language shipment monitoring system, automatic email advising, and the possibility of automatic SMS advising at the recipient's request.

Results
Together with a business partner, we make several thousand shipments per month. The products go from the factory in Torun and the Logistics Center in Swiecko directly to the homes of individual customers in Poland, Austria, and Germany. Thanks to the logistics solution we prepared, Schoenberger expanded its portfolio by selling a new assortment of products in the B2C segment, which, due to their parameters exceeding standard dimensions, did not qualify for transport by other courier and logistics companies. The cooperation brought our client an expanded market and a competitive advantage.
