Efficient automotive production enabled by logistics. SUUS and Valeo collaboration
2025-07-22

Delivering components to production in the proper quantity, sequence, and time is critical to streamlining the manufacturing process. Therefore, in partnership with Valeo—a global leader in the automotive industry—SUUS has implemented a just-in-sequence logistics model.
Just-in-sequence logistics
In cooperation with Valeo, SUUS manages the inventory of cooling system components, including storage and preparation for production line delivery. Operations are based on the just-in-sequence approach—ensuring parts arrive in the exact quantity, precise order, and at the required time. As a result, components can be used immediately without additional sorting.
- Optimised warehousing – components are stored according to individual serial numbers, speeding up order picking. SUUS uses high-bay VNA racking and block storage systems.
- Sequenced order picking – parts are prepared for specific production lines in the exact order specified by the manufacturer. Unified transport carriers, matching those used at Valeo’s plant, are being introduced to further enhance process efficiency.
- Full system integration – demand data is automatically transferred from Valeo’s system, reducing operational time and eliminating error risk.
- 24/7 operations – logistics processes are fully aligned with Valeo’s production schedule, running seven days a week.
Logistics operations are conducted in Valeo’s in-house warehouse near Cracow, adjacent to its largest production site in Poland. The 16,000 m² facility also handles storage and distribution prep of finished goods.
Component import from supply markets
SUUS also manages the import of production components from key supply markets across Western Europe, Asia, and Turkey. Deliveries are routed to appointed Valeo’s manufacturing plants in Poland, Hungary, and Slovakia.
- For shipments from Asia, SUUS provides sea, rail, and air freight solutions.
- Within Europe, road transport - both full truckload and groupage - is used.
The use of appropriate transport modes allows flexible adjustment of deliveries to current customer needs, supporting the continuity of production processes.
Rohlig SUUS Logistics has been a logistics partner for Valeo since 2009. Over this time, the project has scaled significantly—logistics services have expanded, and warehouse space under management has increased nearly fivefold.
