Rohlig SUUS Logistics develops the Poland-Ukraine service
Poland's significance in Ukraine's international trade is constantly growing. Therefore, Rohlig SUUS Logistics is developing its offer for customers interested in this direction. The largest Polish logistics operator offers a regular service in groupage road transport, customs clearance in the branch office in Rzeszow as well as further distribution into Western Europe.
"Recently, we have seen an increase in commercial enquiries for transport on the Poland-Ukraine line. This is a clear signal regarding the business growth potential that the Ukrainian market brings. This is why we are developing groupage road transport in this direction. Our service is distinguished by fast and on-time deliveries," says Piotr Szalkiewicz, International Groupage Product Director – CEE at Rohlig SUUS Logistics. "Thanks to our extensive network, we also ensure coverage of the whole Europe, as well as customs clearance in a temporary storage warehouse in the Rzeszow branch, support and consulting provided by a team of professional forwarders and customs agents (including in the Ukrainian language), and shipment insurance," he adds.
SUUS offers regular transport departures, twice a week, in the Poland-Ukraine direction from its branch in Rzeszow. The operator delivers goods to and from Lviv, with transit time of 24-48 hours, and further from and to Lutsk, Kiev, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava, Mykolaiv and Kryvyi Rih. Besides commercial transport, the company also organizes shipments related to humanitarian aid.
Poland as a gateway to Ukraine
The war in Ukraine has dramatically changed trade routes in Eastern Europe. The closure of Black Sea traffic or the exclusion of airspace has made Poland the gateway to the global market for Ukraine and its main trading partner. Polish international trade turnover with Ukraine increased by 56 % in 2022, including exports by 59% and imports by 52%.
"Poland is a natural logistics hub between Ukraine and Western Europe. We are already seeing the development of business in this direction, and I believe that our country will also play a vital role in the reconstruction of Ukraine. Undoubtedly, a key role in the supply chain is and will continue to be played by Rzeszow – where we offer our groupage service in the aforementioned direction – and Lublin, where we also have our branch," Krzysztof Gąsiewski, Regional Director at Rohlig SUUS Logistics. The Polish operator has recently opened a new warehouse in Lublin, increasing its operational capacity in the region by 30%.
"The favorable location and constantly developing infrastructure make the Lublin Region and Subcarpathia an attractive hub for companies that want to develop their operations in Ukraine, as well as for Ukrainian entrepreneurs who are focused on expansion in Central or Western Europe," he adds.
