Rohlig Suus Logistics opens new connections to the Iberian Peninsula
The Polish logistics operator is strengthening its position in European road transport. From the beginning of 2023, Rohlig Suus Logistics has launched new connections to the Iberian Peninsula – Spain, Portugal, as well as Morocco, the Canary Islands, Majorca and Menorca. The transit time will be the shortest on the market.
The Iberian Peninsula – an attractive destination for entrepreneurs
The new service is offered by Suus in partnership with Spanish logistics operator Transnatur. The shortest transit time on the market, attractive rates, daily connections on selected lines, electronic data exchange and improved tracking are the most important advantages from the customers' point of view. The operator will carry out regular links to and from Spain, as well as Portugal, Morocco, the Canary Islands, Majorca and Menorca. In addition, thanks to a double manning of drivers, transport on selected lines will be shorter and will only take 3-4 working days. The new direction also allows Rohlig Suus Logistics to offer a fast link to the Czech Republic, where the company's new warehouse is located.
“Road transport is one of the pillars of our business, accounting for almost 41 percent of Rohlig Suus Logistics' sales. Recognising the growing demand of companies for trade with the Iberian Peninsula countries, we decided to strengthen our position in general cargo transport in this market and open further connections to Western Europe. We are doing this in cooperation with a new partner – recently we have been focusing on building and developing alliances with operators that will allow us to increase our network of connections and improve the quality of service," says Andrzej Kozłowski, member of the management board of Rohlig Suus Logistics. Spain, one of the EU's economic leaders, reached a record value in exports in 2021 – € 316 billion – an increase of more than 21 percent compared to 2020. The Iberian Peninsula's largest customers are EU countries, and the main groups of trade goods include: automotive products, pharmaceuticals, electrical equipment and industrial machinery.
In partnership with Transnatur, Rohlig Suus Logistics offers trips to and from Barcelona, Irun, Bilbao, Zaragoza, Tarragona, Valencia, Alicante, Madrid, Seville, Lisbon, Porto, Vigo, Gibraltar, Ceuta, Melilla, Andorra, Menorca, Mallorca, Tenerife and Gran Canaria.
“Direct and regular connections will enable customers to plan reliably and ensure process continuity, which is particularly important in industries where short time of delivery matters. We carry out the service with Transnatur, which provides a high standard and has service-enhancing transshipment terminals in Spain and Portugal,” says Piotr Szałkiewicz, International Groupage Director at Rohlig Suus Logistics. “The new connections strengthen Suus’s position in this direction, but above all allow our customers to benefit from the fastest service,” he adds.
Quick and comprehensive connection to the Iberian Peninsula
However, the logistical support of the Polish logistics operator does not end with the execution of the route from/to the Iberian Peninsula. Rohlig Suus Logistics also offers further distribution of goods within Central and Eastern Europe – to the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Hungary, Slovenia, where the company's branches are located, as well as the Baltic countries and Ukraine. What is more, thanks to the company's recent investment in technological development, customers will be able to benefit from quick call pricing on the SUUS Portal (portal.suus.com) and the ability to monitor shipments by customised status. In addition, until the end of March 2023, customers with a SUUS Portal account will be able to benefit from a 15 percent discount for the Spanish direction.
The new connections to Western Europe are another step in Rohlig Suus Logistics’s international growth plans. The Polish logistics operator has recently significantly expanded its European distribution network, launching connections to Malta, as well as developing activity in the Scandinavian market.
